It’s hard to believe Yazemeenah Rossi is 65. Only her hair color – which she refuses to dye – betrays that fact.

Rossi came to the US in 1999 and worked for Ford models, becoming the face of Bloomingdale’s, Barneys, J Crew, and Bobbi Brown. But even by age 30, her hair had turned white.

“I’m passionate about what I’m doing. I have no time,” she says. “It’s beautiful. It’s silver!”

And she’s turned down a lot of money over the years so she could keep it natural.

Society can often forget the stunning beauty of older women in particular, and she’s is looking to change the way people see older women.

Rossi became the new face of a swimsuit line at age 61.

The campaign was a collaborative work between the online shop The Dreslyn and a lingerie house called Land of Women.

A grandmother of two, Rossi decided to take some self-portraits in lingerie gifted to her by a designer. She sent the shots to them, and soon became the face of their summer 2016 swimwear campaign.

With a major focus on eliminating hyper-sexuality in swimwear advertisements, they looked to Rossi because of her grace and elegance.

On the choice to cast Rossi, Brooke Taylor Corcia, founder of Dreslyn told Huffington Post that “this is a woman who radiates health and vitality. She’s confident, she’s a visual artist, she takes care of herself. [This line is] all about being a person who’s well-lived and well-traveled and has intelligence and confidence, and letting that shine through.”

Rossi didn’t start modeling as a teen, like most. She was 28 when her sister invited her to stand in at the last minute for one of her clients during Paris Fashion Week. After that, she spent 10 years working as a fittings model for luxury brands Hermès and YSL.

“I stood on high heels all day, while they made clothes on me and smoked. It was terrible, but I was thankful I could raise my kids, she told The Guardian.” “I’ve lost a lot of money because I refuse to do things that aren’t right for me.”

The stunning Malibu-based model was born in France and raised in Corsica by her grandparents. She claims that her health is owed to her eating habits and beauty regimen.

“There is no big secret,” she told the Sunday Times. “All I have ever done is eat organic food – long before it became trendy.”

She continues to note that she also uses oil for her skin and puts rapeseed oil in her hair. She also uses a sugar scrub that blends sugar with olive oil and eats an avocado every day, along with organic meat and fish.

For those who call her courageous, Rossi has one message: “This is not courage. This is simply who I am. If more models are authentic, it will impact people who see them.”

Her healthy eating habits are an inspiration for all that are looking to be healthy as they age, and the beautiful model proves that age is nothing but a number!

Young or old, we can all learn an important message in this campaign – age does not equal beauty.
